A Freepik alternative for brands that want the posting done
Freepik, renamed Magnific in April 2026, puts a library of over 250 million stock assets, more than 30 image models, video, audio and editors under one login. QuQi does a narrower job: it builds each post’s picture or carousel from your website, captions it for each channel and publishes it on a calendar, with articles and SEO from the same crew.
Why people look for an alternative to Freepik
Searches still use the old name, and the reasons behind them show up in Magnific’s own help pages and in the alternatives lists.
Credit maths for every model
Each image model and each clip has its own price in credits, and video spends them far faster than pictures. Unlimited use covers selected models inside the web app only, and API calls always draw on credits.
No trial, and credits that lapse
Magnific does not offer free trials, and plan credits do not roll over. Subscriptions and refunds are among the most mentioned topics in its Trustpilot reviews.
Made, then downloaded
Publishing in Magnific means your profile, a community style or a Space shared as a Flow, not a social channel. Each image is downloaded, captioned and posted by someone, and the week’s plan is yours to make.
What QuQi does instead
QuQi splits that work among teammates who start from your website and run on a calendar.
Plans each day’s post from your social strategy, writes a version for every channel and publishes it with a picture or carousel set in your brand.
Makes a weekly short from your website, with a voiceover, music and your shop’s products, from 12 to 30 seconds unless you ask for another length.
Picks a search your customers make, reads the top results, writes the article in your voice and publishes it to your CMS with pictures placed in it.
Writes three options for each weak title, description or schema, and the one you pick goes live through QuQi Edge, where it can be undone, or comes to you ready to paste.
Freepik and QuQi, side by side
QuQi’s column is for a paid plan. The free plan audits and analyses the website, and publishing starts on a paid plan.
Freepik’s details were checked on October 18, 2026 on its own pages: magnific.com/pricing, magnific.com/ai/docs/plans-and-pricing, magnific.com/ai/docs/freepik-is-now-magnific, magnific.com/one, magnific.com/mcp . Plans and features change, so check there before you buy. Freepik is a trademark of its owner; QuQi is not affiliated with it.
When Freepik is the better pick
QuQi is not the answer to everything Freepik does. Stay with it, or use both, if this sounds like you.
- You buy stock too: photos, vectors, PSDs, fonts, mockups and templates sit next to the AI tools.
- You want to pick from a long list of image and video models, with new ones often added within days.
- You design by hand in Designer, or work from Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma or Premiere Pro through its plugins.
Moving from Freepik to QuQi
- 01
No Brand Kit to copy across
QuQi builds its own from your site when you add it: the colours on your pages, the fonts in your CSS and a transparent logo. You can upload a different logo by hand, and it is kept.
- 02
Bring the stock you licensed
Photos and images you downloaded from Magnific under your licence can be dropped into QuQi’s chat and posted with your caption, now or at a set time.
- 03
Try the crew on the daily posts
Keep Magnific for stock, upscaling and hands-on design, and let Social Copywriter run the daily posts for a month. Then compare how many hours each one still asks of you.

Freepik alternative: common questions
Is Freepik now called Magnific?
Yes. Freepik renamed itself Magnific on 28 April 2026. It is the same company, with the same accounts and plans, and freepik.com now leads to magnific.com.
Is there a free Freepik alternative?
QuQi has a free plan too, but it covers a different job: the crew audits your site’s SEO and studies your business. Pictures and posts start on a paid plan. Magnific’s Free plan gives up to 20 images a day on its own model, with attribution required and no commercial licence.
Does QuQi have stock photos like Freepik?
Not a library you browse. When a post needs a photo, QuQi finds real stock photos and footage for it, or uses your own products if you sell them. If you want to search and download stock yourself, Magnific has far more of it.
Can I use Freepik and QuQi together?
Yes. Make or license an image in Magnific, then drop it into QuQi’s chat to post with your own caption. Both have MCP servers, so Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can ask Magnific for an image and QuQi to schedule the post.
