The 8 best AI visibility tools in 2026, compared
The best AI visibility tools in 2026 compared: Profound, Peec AI, Otterly.AI, AthenaHQ, Scrunch, Semrush, Ahrefs and QuQi, with engines, prices and fit.
The best AI visibility tools in 2026 are Profound for enterprise depth, Peec AI for clean daily analytics, Otterly.AI for a low-cost start, AthenaHQ for the most engines on a published plan, Scrunch for large sites getting ready for AI agents, Semrush for teams already in its SEO suite, and Ahrefs Brand Radar for research across a whole market. Choose by three things: which AI engines your buyers use, how often you need answers checked, and who will act on what the tool finds.
This comparison covers eight tools: what each checks, what it costs and who it suits. Prices come from each vendor's own pricing page, read on October 25, 2026, and they change often. QuQi publishes this post and makes one of the eight, so its entry says plainly what it does not do.
What is an AI visibility tool?
An AI visibility tool, also sold as a GEO tool or LLM brand tracker, asks AI assistants the questions your buyers ask and records whether your brand appears in the answers. GEO, short for generative engine optimization, is the work of getting a business named and cited in those answers. Our guide to GEO covers the basics.
Most tools report the same few numbers. A mention means the answer names your brand. A citation means it links to your page as a source. Share of voice is your share of mentions against the competitors you track. A prompt is one tracked question, and most plans are priced by how many prompts they check, on how many engines, how often.

The best GEO tools in 2026, one by one
The order follows the kind of buyer each tool suits, not a score. For head-to-head pages on more tools, see our comparisons.
1. Profound: best for enterprise brands
Profound is the deepest tracker on this list. On Enterprise it runs every tracked prompt daily on up to 9 engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search. Profound says it captures answers from each engine's own web interface, as users see them, rather than through an API. It adds Prompt Volumes, a dataset of real prompt demand, and Agents that research, write and publish to your CMS, with an approval step before anything goes live.
The catch is access. Brands get a free 7-day trial on 50 prompts and three engines, then an Enterprise package by quote. It suits large brands and agencies that report on AI search. See QuQi vs Profound.
2. Peec AI: best for clear daily analytics
Peec AI tracks every day how AI answers mention and cite your brand, with visibility, position, sentiment and share of voice against competitors. Each self-serve plan covers 3 models you choose from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI, with Perplexity among the add-ons. Gap analysis lists sources that name rivals but not you, and recommended actions come ranked.
Every plan has unlimited users. Its agent suggests actions from your data, while making the changes on your site stays with your team. Peec AI starts from $95 a month (October 2026) for 50 prompts. Read our Peec AI alternative page for the trade-offs.
3. Otterly.AI: best low-cost start
Otterly.AI is the cheapest way into daily tracking here: from $29 a month (October 2026) for 15 prompts, checked daily on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Gemini, Google AI Mode and Claude cost extra. Every plan includes unlimited team members, a GEO and crawlability audit, and recommendations, three a week on the entry plan. More prompts mean a bigger plan. It suits solo marketers and small teams. See the Otterly.AI alternative page.
4. AthenaHQ: most engines on a published plan
AthenaHQ covers 11 engines on Starter, from $295 a month (October 2026): ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral. A free plan gives 300 credits on 5 engines. Usage is counted in credits, one per AI response, with 3,600 a month on Starter, so more prompts and engines spend more. Its Content Hub drafts articles and publishes to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix, Framer, Payload, Sanity and Contentful. It suits teams that want broad coverage and content in one place. Compare it on the AthenaHQ alternative page.
5. Scrunch: best for large sites and Sitecore users
Scrunch, bought by Sitecore on June 3, 2026, monitors AI answers and prepares sites for AI agents. Core, from $250 a month (October 2026), tracks 125 prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot, with 5 site audits a month and 5 licences. Enterprise adds 9 engines and Agent Pages, which deliver an optimized version of your site to AI agents. According to Scrunch, new prompts run daily for 14 days, then every 72 hours by default. It suits large sites, catalogs and Sitecore customers. See QuQi vs Scrunch.
6. Semrush: best if you already use Semrush
Semrush folds AI visibility into its SEO plans. Starter, from $199 a month (October 2026), adds 50 prompts tracked daily to keyword research, rank tracking and Site Audit. Semrush's help center says prompt tracking covers ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, and its weekly Brand Performance reports add Perplexity. It is the natural pick for teams who want AI answers next to their rankings, less so for someone who only wants AI tracking. See QuQi vs Semrush.
7. Ahrefs Brand Radar: best for market research
Ahrefs Brand Radar has two parts. The AI Visibility Index, from $199 a month (October 2026), shows any brand's mentions across 496 million prompts run on AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, with no setup; Ahrefs re-tests those questions monthly. Custom Prompts, from $50 a month, tracks your own questions daily, weekly or monthly, Claude included, and paid Ahrefs plans from Lite up include 5 to 20 prompts. Ahrefs says the Index works best for brands that already have search demand. It suits market research and existing Ahrefs users. See QuQi vs Ahrefs.
8. QuQi: best when nobody has time to act on the data
QuQi is a crew of AI agents for one business website, and AI Visibility is one of them, so it checks less than the trackers above: four engines, once a week. It asks Google's AI Overview, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini the questions your buyers ask, records who is named instead of you, and turns each gap into an article brief. The Copywriter writes that article in your voice and publishes it. With the articles switch off, each one waits for your OK in its chat.
Pick a tracker for daily data across many engines. Pick QuQi if the list of gaps would otherwise sit unread.
Are there free AI visibility tools?
Yes, for a first look. Google Search Console's generative AI performance reports, announced on June 3, 2026 and open to every website since August 31, show how often your pages appeared in AI Overviews and AI Mode, by page, country and device. They count impressions, not brand mentions.
Bing Webmaster Tools added AI Performance on February 10, 2026: how often Copilot and Bing's AI summaries cite your pages, and the grounding queries behind those citations. AthenaHQ's free plan covers 5 engines. For a handful of questions, our guide on how to check if ChatGPT mentions your brand shows the hand method.
How to choose an AI visibility tool
Choose an AI visibility tool by the engines your buyers use, how often you need checks, how the tool collects answers, its full cost and who will act on the findings. Two mistakes are easy to make: paying for engines your buyers never use, and buying data nobody acts on. Seven checks:
- List the engines your buyers use. Ask customers which assistant they open, and read Search Console's AI report for Google. Pay for those engines, not the longest list.
- Pick a frequency. Daily data suits teams that report every week. A small site can learn a lot from a weekly check, since any single answer swings anyway.
- Judge share, not rank. In a SparkToro study reported by Search Engine Journal in January 2026, ChatGPT and Google's AI returned the same brand list less than 1% of the time for repeated runs of one prompt. How often a brand appeared was steadier than its position.
- Ask how answers are collected. Profound says it reads each engine's web interface; Scrunch says it combines browser automation with official APIs. Ask every vendor for its method and sample size.
- Count the full cost: engines sold as add-ons, credits per answer, extra prompts and seats.
- Decide who acts on the findings. A tracker hands you a list. If nobody will write the missing pages, favour a tool that drafts or publishes.
- Test before you pay. Load 10 to 20 real buyer questions into a trial and compare a few results with your own checks.
Questions people ask
Which AI visibility platform is the best?
It depends on who is buying. Profound offers the most depth for enterprise brands, Peec AI and Otterly.AI suit teams that want daily data at a published price, AthenaHQ covers 11 engines on a published plan, Semrush suits teams already in its SEO suite and Ahrefs Brand Radar suits market research. Choose by the engines your buyers use, how often you need checks and who will act on the results.
What are AI visibility tools?
AI visibility tools are software that sends your buyers' questions to AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews, then records whether your brand is mentioned or your pages cited, which competitors appear and where the answers get their sources. Most price by the number of questions tracked, the engines covered and how often each one is checked.
Are there free AI visibility tools in 2026?
Yes, a few. Google Search Console has shown every site its impressions in AI Overviews and AI Mode since August 31, 2026, and Bing Webmaster Tools reports citations in Copilot and Bing's AI summaries. AthenaHQ has a free plan with 300 credits on 5 engines, and Profound offers a 7-day trial. For a handful of questions, checking by hand each month also works.
How do you track AI search visibility?
Write down 10 to 30 questions your buyers ask, then check whether AI answers name you, link to you and who they name instead. Do it by hand for a few questions, or with a tracker for many. Repeat on a schedule, because answers change between runs, and follow the share of answers that mention you over time rather than any single result.
What is LLM tracking?
LLM tracking means monitoring what large language models, the AI systems behind ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and similar assistants, say about your brand. A tracker asks them set prompts on a schedule and logs mentions, citations, sentiment and the competitors named. It also goes by LLM brand tracking, AI search monitoring or AI visibility tracking.
How much do AI visibility tools cost in 2026?
Published entry prices ran from $29 to $295 a month in October 2026: Otterly.AI from $29, Ahrefs Brand Radar's Custom Prompts from $50, Peec AI from $95, Semrush's Starter from $199, Scrunch from $250 and AthenaHQ from $295. Profound sells to brands by quote after a free trial. Extra engines, prompts and seats often cost more on top.
How accurate are AI visibility tools?
Accurate enough for trends, not for exact positions. AI answers change from run to run: a SparkToro study published in January 2026 found ChatGPT and Google's AI gave the same brand list less than 1% of the time for the same prompt. Any tool's figure is a sample, so trust patterns across many prompts and weeks, and ask each vendor how it collects answers.
