AI Text Cleaner
Find the zero-width characters and watermarks hiding in pasted text, and strip them.
This strips invisible characters and normalizes punctuation. It does not make machine-written text read as human - that is an editing job, not a find-and-replace. Anyone selling you the opposite is selling you a find-and-replace.
What it checks
- Lists each hidden or unusual character in the pasted text by name, with how many times it appears, next to a total character count.
- Detects 21 invisible characters, including zero-width spaces and joiners, byte-order marks, soft hyphens and directional overrides and isolates.
- Replaces six unusual spaces, such as non-breaking, thin and em spaces, with an ordinary space.
- Optionally converts em and en dashes, ellipses and curly quotes to plain keyboard punctuation.
- Removes spaces at the end of lines and reduces runs of blank lines to a single blank line.
- Works entirely in your browser; the text you paste is not sent to QuQi.
Reading the result
Invisible characters are listed first, and every one of them is removed when you clean the text. Unusual spaces are always turned into ordinary spaces. Dashes, ellipses and curly quotes are listed for information and change only when the punctuation option is on.
Some invisible characters do real work. Zero-width joiners hold multi-part emoji together, zero-width non-joiners are part of correct spelling in Persian and some Indic scripts, and directional isolates and embeddings keep mixed Arabic or Hebrew and English text in the right order. French typography also uses non-breaking spaces before colons, semicolons, question marks and exclamation marks. If your text relies on any of these, read the cleaned version before you use it.
Clean text before it goes into your CMS, an email or a spreadsheet. A hidden character in a title, slug or product name makes two strings that look identical compare as different, which breaks search, deduplication and exact-match lookups.
Questions
Will cleaning make AI-written text undetectable?
No. Detectors and readers judge wording and sentence patterns, not only hidden characters. Cleaning removes characters you cannot see; making text sound like you takes editing.
Is the text I paste stored or sent anywhere?
No. The analysis and the cleaning both run in your browser, and nothing you paste leaves the page.
Why are em dashes listed if they are visible?
They are listed so you can see how many there are, not because they are hidden. Turn on the punctuation option if your style guide or system needs plain punctuation.
Does cleaning change my line breaks?
Single line breaks and paragraph breaks stay. Spaces at the end of a line are removed, and three or more line breaks in a row become one blank line.
