Internal link opportunity finder
Use when a target page needs more internal links and you want specific source pages and anchors.
Fill in before running
Replace each placeholder with your own detail. The more specific you are, the less the model invents.
- {{TARGET_PAGE}}
- {{TARGET_KEYWORD}}
- {{SOURCE_PAGES}}
- {{EXISTING_LINKS}}
Getting a better result
- Paste real paragraphs from the source pages, not just titles, so the insertion points are usable.
- Cap it at around 8 to 12 new links per target so the pattern does not look automated.
- Prioritize source pages that already receive organic traffic over orphaned ones.
Questions about this prompt
Why bother with internal links when I could build external ones?
Because internal links are the part you fully control, and they are usually the cheapest ranking gain available on an established site. A page with good content and no internal links pointing at it is invisible to the crawler in a way that no amount of external work fixes.
What should I paste as source pages?
Real paragraphs, not just titles. The output is meant to give you an insertion point and an anchor that reads naturally in context, and it cannot do that from a page title alone. Prioritise sources that already receive organic traffic over orphaned pages.
How many links should I add at once?
Around eight to twelve per target. Beyond that the pattern starts to look automated, which is the opposite of what internal linking is supposed to signal, and the marginal value of each additional link falls away quickly.
Does anchor text still matter?
For internal links, yes, more than for external ones, because you control every instance. Varying the anchor naturally across sources is better than repeating an exact-match phrase twelve times, which reads as manipulation to a reviewer and to an algorithm.
