How often an agent runs, when the next run happens, and what daily, weekly and monthly actually mean.
An agent on autopilot runs on a clock. You choose how often, QuQi picks the hour, and the calendar takes care of the rest.
The four cadences
The How often field sits under the autopilot control, and is only used when autopilot is on.
The first run is a full cadence away, not immediate. Switching on a daily lane this afternoon schedules its first run for 9:00 tomorrow, not tonight. If you want something now, press Run now on the agent — the clock keeps running underneath.
When in the day
Every scheduled run is set for 9:00 in your business’s own timezone, so nothing lands in the middle of your night. That timezone is the one on your website’s Business Details; if you have not set one, your country’s zone is used.
QuQi looks for work that has fallen due once an hour, so a run starts within an hour of its time rather than to the second.
Not every agent has a cadence
Only the agents that run on their own clock are asked how often: the Content Planner and the Social Planner. They are the ones that decide what gets made and when.
The writers are offered a rung but no cadence. Their timing comes from the calendar slot the planner already chose, so an article due Thursday is written for Thursday.
What a planner run leaves behind
- The Content Planner schedules one keyword per open day, starting tomorrow.
- The Social Planner places posts between tomorrow and six days out, at 10:00.
- Running the Social Planner again tops the week up rather than doubling it, and the Content Planner never plans a keyword it has already planned or written.
The second pass
Each hourly check does two things. First it starts the agents whose cadence has come round. Then it looks at your calendar and writes anything planned for the next 48 hours, so a post due Thursday morning is written and waiting well before Thursday.
Posts you have put on the clock yourself are separate. They go out at the exact time you set.
Changing the schedule
Saving your autopilot settings starts or stops the clock straight away rather than at the end of the current cycle. Switching autopilot to Off takes effect at once — a run already on the books cancels itself when its time comes.
Changing something unrelated on an agent that is already running does not move its next run time.
When a run cannot start
A run that cannot start — because the month’s allowance is gone, say — does not retry in a loop and does not hold anything else up. Its clock moves on to the next cycle, and the terminal on the dashboard shows one line saying what stopped it.
