Google Search Console
How to sign in with Google, which property QuQi reads from, and what to do when Google refuses the connection.

Google Search Console sits under Website analytics on the Integrations page, described there as “Import clicks, impressions and query data for your site.” You make it by signing in rather than by pasting anything in.
START HERE
There is nothing to type. Pressing Set up opens a small Google sign-in window, and the only things you supply are a Google account and your permission. Only an owner or admin of the website can connect or disconnect it — everyone else sees the status and nothing more.
What connecting gives you
- QuQi is allowed to read your search performance data. The permission is read-only, so it can never change anything in your Search Console.
- You pick one verified property, and that property is remembered for this website.
- It cannot publish anything. It is not a publishing destination, so it does not take your website’s single publishing slot and it sits happily alongside WordPress, Shopify or anything else.
- The connection belongs to the website you set it up on, not to you. Each website you run needs its own.
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO YET
Today the connection goes as far as reading the list of properties your Google account is verified on, and remembering the one you chose. The clicks, impressions and queries the card promises are not being pulled in yet.
Connect it

Open Integrations
Make sure you are on the right website, then find Google Search Console under Website analytics.

Press Set up
A small Google sign-in window opens on top of the page. There is no form to fill in.

Sign in and allow
Google asks to share your name and email address, and to give read-only access to your Search Console data. Google shows this permission screen every single time, even for an account that has approved QuQi before.

Let the window close itself
It says “Connected — You can close this window.” and closes on its own. If something went wrong it usually stays open with the reason instead, and the same reason appears on the Integrations page behind it. Two of the failures below are different: the window fills with the whole Integrations page carrying the reason, and the page behind it never shows anything.

Pick your property
A drawer titled Connect Google Search Console asks which verified property to pull performance data from. Choose one and press Save property.
GOOD TO KNOW
QuQi often answers that last step for you — when your account has only one verified property, or when one of them matches this website’s domain, the drawer opens with it already chosen and the connection already works. Pressing Save property just confirms it.
Checking it worked

Look at the card
It shows a green Connected badge, with the property you chose written underneath it.

Read the line under the name
If it says “Signed in as” your email address and asks you to choose a property, the sign-in worked but no property has been saved yet. Press Reconfigure and pick one.

Watch for a red Error badge
A failing connection says why underneath, and its button changes to Reconnect.
When Google refuses
The message you get names the problem. These are the ones you are most likely to see.

“Google OAuth is not configured on this server”
Nothing is wrong at your end — the Google sign-in has not been set up on the QuQi side.
Tell support. There is nothing you can supply to fix it.
“That connection request expired.”
Too long passed between opening the Google window and coming back.
Start again from the Integrations page.
“Google did not complete the connection.”
The sign-in was cancelled or refused at Google’s end.
Press Set up and go through it again.
“Google did not return a refresh token.”
Google handed back permission without the part QuQi needs to keep using it.
Remove QuQi from your Google account permissions, then connect again.
“Connected, but we could not read your Search Console properties”
The sign-in worked and Google then refused the request for your property list. The reason follows the message.
Read the reason in red on the card. Reconnect only opens the property picker, and it comes up empty.
“Pick one of your verified Search Console properties.”
The property sent back was not one Google listed for that account.
Reopen the picker and choose from the list.
If the list of properties is empty
The drawer says Google returned no verified properties for that account, and offers only a Reconnect Google account link — there is nothing to save. Verify your site in Search Console first, then come back and connect again.
Properties your Google account can see but is not verified on are left out of the list on purpose, because they always come back empty. If you expected one and it is not there, check which account you signed in with, and check that it is verified on that property.
Changing it or removing it
- Reconfigure reopens the property picker so you can switch property. It does not ask Google for permission again.
- The Reconnect Google account link inside that drawer does start the whole sign-in over, which is what you want if you are moving to a different Google account.
- Disconnect removes the connection from this website.
CAREFUL
Disconnecting only removes it from QuQi. Google still lists QuQi among the apps your account has approved, so remove it there too if you want the permission gone. Ignore the wording in the confirmation box that says QuQi will stop publishing to it — that line is shown for every integration, and this one is read-only and never published anything.
GOOD TO KNOW
The Search Console tile on your dashboard is a preview of what the data will look like, not a way in. Its Connect button does nothing — connect from Integrations.
