What it does

The Link Exchange has no Run button. When an article is written, the links you have already approved are woven into it, and a nightly check confirms that the links placed so far are still live.

Pricing runs on Domain Rating. Hosting a link on a site rated 40 is worth 40 credits — so a stronger site earns more for hosting, and costs more to be hosted on. A run reports your credit balance, your own Domain Rating, and what you are paid per verified link.

A page in the exchange receives between one and three links before it stops being offered, so no page of yours turns into a list of other people’s links.

Nothing happens at all until you join.

Skills

Three lanes. All three start switched on, and each can be switched off on its own.

SKILLWHAT IT DOESWHAT IT CHANGES
Hosting links Places other sites’ links on your pages, and earns you credits for it. Switch it off and you stop earning credits, but you can still spend what you have.
Earning links Spends your credits to get links pointed at your pages. On by default, with its own switch.
Checking links are still live Re-checks the links that have already been placed. Switch it off and credits never settle or reverse, and the run says so.

Settings

SETTINGWHAT IT CHANGESDEFAULT
Join the exchange Whether you take part at all. Nothing happens until you opt in. Off
Link proposals per month How many link proposals this website may create in one calendar month: 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10. Every proposal counts the moment it is made, whatever becomes of it — one you decline, and one no article ever finds a spot for, both keep their slot until the 1st. Dimmed until Join the exchange is on. 2
Link my own websites to each other Whether your own sites may link to one another. It has to be switched on for both sites. Off
Auto-accept proposals Whether proposals are accepted without you. With it off, every proposal waits on the Backlinks page until you approve or decline it. Off
Target pages & anchor text Which of your pages to earn links to, and the words those links use. Leave it empty and your published articles are used automatically. Empty
VORSICHT Every target page address must be on your own domain. Anything else is rejected.
