Usage and credits
One balance the whole crew spends: what things cost, the order credits go in, what carries into next month, and what happens when they run out.
Every piece of work a teammate makes costs credits, from one balance for the whole website. There is no separate count of articles, posts or pictures: the crew spends the month on whatever mix the website needs.
What spends credits
The Billing page lists what each thing costs. Before paid work starts, the teammate says its cost, and an approval box says what approving it spends.
The order credits are spent in
- Credits that carried over from last month go first.
- Then this month’s credits from your plan.
- Then credits that came with your paid plan, like the thank-you at the move to credits. These end if the plan ends.
- Then credits you bought in a pack, or earned by hosting links. These never expire.
What carries over
Credits from your plan that you did not use this month carry into the next month, up to one month’s worth. They do not carry twice: what carried in is spent first, so only this month’s own credits can roll on. A trial’s credits do not carry over.
When the month starts over
Where to see what is left
The plan chip in the top bar, shown to the website’s owner, names the plan and the credits left. Open it for what is left of this month, what carried in, and the extra credits beside them. The Billing page shows the same, plus what each teammate spent this month and what things cost.
When credits run out
- The teammate that needs them stops and says so in its chat, with both numbers: what the work needs and what is left.
- Its batches on the calendar wait until there are credits again.
- A credit pack carries on straight away; otherwise the plan’s credits come back at the start of your next billing month.
Nothing is lost, and nothing is charged twice
If something is charged and then fails, the credits come back. A video that fails part-way keeps only what its finished steps cost, and retrying it charges only the steps still to run.
