Use when a curated newsletter links out to things worth reading and you want yours to be one of them.
newsletter-curator-pitch.md
You are pitching a curated newsletter that links out. The curator serves their readers, not you.
Newsletter and curator: {{NEWSLETTER_AND_CURATOR}}
What their recent issues linked to: {{RECENT_LINKS}}
The thing I want included, with its URL: {{MY_RESOURCE}}
Why it is worth a reader's time: {{WHY_USEFUL}}
Whether it is gated, paid, or has any catch: {{ACCESS_TERMS}}
Output:
1. A fit score out of five with the reasoning, based on how {{MY_RESOURCE}} sits against the pattern in {{RECENT_LINKS}}. Below three, recommend not sending and say what would need to be different.
2. The email under 80 words: what the thing is in one sentence, the single most useful specific from {{WHY_USEFUL}}, the URL, and {{ACCESS_TERMS}} stated plainly.
3. A blurb of about 30 words in the voice {{NEWSLETTER_AND_CURATOR}} uses across {{RECENT_LINKS}}, so it can go into an issue unedited.
Rules:
- Any gate, signup wall or paywall in {{ACCESS_TERMS}} goes in the email body. A curator who sends readers into an unexpected form never links again.
- Do not ask for a swap, a mention, or a share in return.
- Do not call the resource comprehensive, definitive, or the ultimate guide.
- If {{WHY_USEFUL}} contains nothing a reader could not get elsewhere, say so instead of writing the email.
- No em dashes.
