# Repurpose An Article Per Platform

Cross-posting one blurb to every network gets near-zero engagement because each platform ranks a different unit of value: LinkedIn ranks dwell time on the post body, X ranks replies, Reddit ranks whether you sound like a member. The obvious approach - a hook, a summary and a link - fails because it asks for a click before giving anything, and every ranking system on these platforms demotes posts that send people away. The fix is to give the whole payload in-platform and let the link be optional.

## What you need first

- a published article with a clear central claim
- the two or three strongest specifics in it - numbers, screenshots, counter-examples
- a list of the platforms you actually maintain accounts on

## Method

1. Strip the article down to its one falsifiable claim and the single best piece of evidence for it. If you cannot state the claim in one sentence that someone could disagree with, the article is not repurposable yet - fix the article.
2. Write the LinkedIn version as a standalone post of 900-1300 characters that resolves its own hook by the third line, because the "see more" fold sits around 200 characters and posts that hide the payoff behind it lose most readers.
3. Write the X version as a thread where tweet one is the finding and tweet two is the method, not a hook that promises a thread - "a thread" openers now underperform the plain claim.
4. Cut a 60-90 second vertical video only if the article contains something visual: a before and after, a screen recording, a chart moving. Talking-head restatement of text does not earn the production time.
5. For each platform, decide where the link goes: in-body for Reddit and forums where it is expected, first comment or profile for feeds that suppress outbound links, and nowhere at all for the shortest formats.
6. Stagger the posts over seven to ten days rather than the same afternoon, and use different specifics in each so that someone who follows you in three places sees three things, not one thing three times.

## What this produces

A per-platform set of standalone posts, each complete without the click, scheduled across a week.

## Where this goes wrong

- pasting the same text everywhere, which trains your own followers to skip you
- leading with the link so the post reads as an advert and gets demoted before humans see it
- repurposing thin articles - if there is no specific inside, no format change will save it
