# Citation cleanup plan

> Use when you are starting citation work and need a prioritised plan instead of buying a bulk submission package.

## Fill in before running

- `{{BUSINESS_NAME}}`
- `{{SECTOR}}`
- `{{LOCATION}}`
- `{{EXISTING_CITATIONS}}`
- `{{AFFILIATIONS}}`
- `{{TIME_AVAILABLE}}`

## Prompt

```
Build a citation cleanup and building plan for a local business.
Business: {{BUSINESS_NAME}}
Sector: {{SECTOR}}
Country and city: {{LOCATION}}
Citations we already have, with any problems: {{EXISTING_CITATIONS}}
Trade bodies, memberships, accreditations, suppliers, franchises we belong to: {{AFFILIATIONS}}
Time available per week: {{TIME_AVAILABLE}}
Produce three sections.
1. Fix first. A table of existing listings needing correction, ranked by impact: Platform, Problem, Action, Who can do it, Estimated time.
2. Build next. A table of new citations worth pursuing: Platform or organisation, Type (core aggregator, sector directory, membership, local body), Why this one specifically, Effort, Cost if any.
3. Do not bother. Things I should skip, with the reason in one line.
Rules:
- Sector and membership listings outrank generic directories. Rank accordingly and put my affiliations near the top since we already qualify for those.
- Do not recommend paid bulk submission services, article directories, or any list of hundreds of low-quality sites.
- Only name platforms that plausibly operate in the country I gave you. If you are not certain a named directory is active there, mark it [VERIFY] rather than asserting it.
- Do not claim volumes, traffic figures or domain metrics for any platform.
Finish with a week-by-week schedule fitted to my available time, covering four weeks.
```

## Getting a better result

- Memberships and trade bodies you already pay for are the fastest citations to claim and the hardest for competitors to copy.
- Fix duplicates and wrong phone numbers before adding anything new, or you will propagate the errors.
- Check every [VERIFY] entry yourself - directory landscapes vary a lot by country and change often.
